Blogging 101 provides a short history of blogs, explains why they are important and defines common terms associated with blogging. At the end of this session you will have a solid understanding of blogs, which can be expanded upon in the Blogging for Small Businesses learning session.

Blogging for Small Businesses-

This learning session is for people who understand the basics of blogging and want to apply them to a small business context. This session will cover how blogs can be used to build relationships with your audience, show thought leadership and generate new business leads. We will also discuss the importance of interacting with and monitoring the larger blogging community as means to drive traffic to your blog.

Blogging Strategy-

Before you start blogging, it is important to know who else is blogging about your industry or niche. We can survey the web to find your competitors and allies. We can provide you with a sense of their authority and what they are writing about. With this knowledge, we can propose a strategy that will help you differentiate your blog and provide value to your intended audience.

Blog Training-

We can train blog users individually or in groups, showing them an overview of the WordPress administrative dashboard. Participants will be taught how to post, edit, tag and link content. We will also explain how to post and reply to comments, as well as trackback to other blogs. We can provide online, telephone and on-site training.

Analytics Setup-

We can setup analytics tools that will help you track growth and provide benchmarks for evaluation. Analytics tools allow us to determine how many people are visiting your blog and what is driving traffic to your site.

Domain Registration and Hosting-

Domain names are important for brand identity and search engine optimization. We can help you come up with a list of appropriate domain names, register your favorite and present hosting options. If you have a server, we can work with your IT staff to install the blog. If your server does not meet the WordPress requirements, we can recommend web hosts.

Ongoing Maintenance-

After launching your blog, we can upgrade WordPress versions, install new plugins or adjust design elements as necessary.
